Nine new deputies took oath of office at the National Assembly today, replacing former MPs elected as mayors at the local elections. The mandate of the elected mayors was terminated before their term expiration.
The Central Electoral Committee (CEC) decision terminates the powers of Atanas Kambitov, who is to be replaced by Yordan Andonov (next on the ballot of the GERB PP). Veselin Davidov takes the place of Georgi Ikonomov, Diyana Yordanova of Ivan Alexiev, Katya Koleva of Ivan Ivanov. Former MPs Nikola Belishki and Nikolay Melemov are succeeded by Petko Petkov and Nedialko Slavov. The place of Zhivko Todorov is now taken by Plamen Rusev, while Petya Chalukova will take the seat of Ivo Dimov. All of the above deputies belong to the list of political party GERB. At the place of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms deputy Georgi Kolev comes Hamid Hamid.
