Bulgarian parliamentary delegation’s official visit to India has started

The official visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to India has started with Tsetska Tsacheva laying a wreath to the monument of Mahatma Gandhi at the site of his cremation in the capital Delhi. As the ritual requires the delegation also sprinkled rose petals in tribute to the memory of Gandhi. 
"The ideas and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi have a timeless meaning and ever greater role in today's dynamic world. His message of peace, tolerance and non-violence resonates today, inspiring millions across the globe." The National Assembly president Tsetska Tsacheva wrote the above message in the honorary book. She stated that the people of friendly Bulgaria have always revered Mahatma Gandhi as an apostle of nonviolence. She recalled Gandhi’s words: “You must be the change you want to see in the world”
During the first day the Bulgarian parliamentarians visited the Center for Crafts and had talks with business circles in the capital Delhi.


The delegation includes the Minister of Health Stefan Konstantinov and the Minister of Education, Youth and Science Sergey Ignatov. Tomorrow, November 28, 2011, in the presence of the Bulgarian delegation, the Intergovernmental agreement in the field of health and medicine and the Programme for cooperation in the field of science and technologies will be signed.


The second day of the visit envisions high level talks with the Speaker of the Lower House in the parliament of India Mrs. Meira Kumar, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Prinit Kaur and with the leader of the opposition in the Lower House (Lok Sabha)  Mrs. Sushma Svaradj. The Bulgarian delegation will be greeted officially in the Indian parliament and will attend the parliamentary control sitting.
