Parliament sets up ad-hoc inquiry committee to probe cases of police violence reported by the public and the mass media as well as alleged attempts to influence and exert political pressure on the law protecting and law enforcement bodies in the country

The parliament has set up an ad-hoc inquiry committee to probe the recently reported by the public and the mass media cases of police violence as well as the alleged attempts to influence and exert political pressure on the law keeping and law enforcement bodies in the country. The draft resolution was proposed by the GERB MP Krasimir Velchev and a group of MPs.


The creation of the committee was supported by the votes of 106 deputies, while 10 were against. The scope of the investigation is to cover the cases registered in the towns of Pernik and Miroviane as well as the case against Issa Besoolu.


The committee is to include 13 deputies – from all parliamentary groups, presided by the member of the GERB parliamentary group Krasimir Tsipov.
