Today Bulgaria mourns the victims of the disastrous flood. Members of the parliament honored the victims with a minute of silence. At the opening of the plenary meeting, the chair of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva stated the whole country was grieving about those who perished. She informed her colleagues that from the very beginning she keeps in touch with the national representatives of the disaster areas. She added the latter were actively involved in the efforts of the institutions, the local authorities and the population, directed at overcoming the heavy consequences of the calamity.
February 8th 2012 has been declared National Mourning Day with regard to the tragic death of Bulgarian citizens as a result of the inundation in the village of Bisser, Haskovo district.
