National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the Parliament honor the memory of the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski

The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the Parliament paid tribute to the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski. The commemoration ceremony on the occasion of the 139th anniversary of the national hero’s death was held in Sofia. The service was attended by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Plevneliev, the Prime Minister Borisov, by cabinet members, by the mayors of the capital Sofia, and of his birthplace the town of Karlovo, by municipal councilors and many citizens. In his address the head of state, President Rosen Plevneliev, stated that the new national cause of Bulgaria is to create a modern, developed and capable state and to lay the foundations of the country’s success in Europe.  The officials and citizens present at the ceremony paid tribute to Vasil Levski with a minute of silence. The brass band of the National Guard performed the national Anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria. Wreaths and flowers were served at the Monument of the Apostle.
