National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and members of the parliament took part in the celebration of the National Holiday – March 3rd

The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and members of the parliament have taken part in the celebration of the National Holiday – March 3rd. In the capital Sofia they have attended a solemn ceremony on the hoisting of the National flag. It was held at the square in front of the temples “St. Alexander Nevski” and “St. Sofia”. The national anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria was played. The ceremony was attended by the President of Bulgaria Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, by the Prime Minister Mr. Boyko Borisov, by politicians, ministers, representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and many citizens. President Rosen Plevneliev laid a wreath in front of the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in memory of those who perished.


For the media, the Speaker of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva noted that the war of 1877-1878 will always be remembered in Bulgaria as a war for freedom. For our people this epic war is not only a fact of history but a special historic breakthrough in the way of the Bulgarian culture, because it made possible the realization of the ideas and the goals of our national Revival. “Our cause today, she emphasized, is to win a respectful presence of Bulgaria in the European Union and the fast developing world. We could reach this goal if we are united and if we all believe in it and work together for its achievement.”
