The information prepared by the parliamentary Press Center and the Legal Directorate of the National Assembly shows that during the 8th session, the 41st National Assembly has passed 33 laws, 71 decisions and 2 declarations.
In the course of the 8th session, January 11, 2012 – April 12, 2012, 86 draft laws were moved to the National Assembly – 34 submitted by the Council of Ministers. During the session 84 draft decisions were submitted of which 72 proposed by Members of the Parliament. The parliament has had 41 plenary sittings.
Parliamentary control activity
During its 8th Session the 41st National Assembly has held 13 parliamentary control sittings. Cabinet members have answered questions raised by parliamentary members in the course of 49 hours and 45 minutes.
503 questions and 84 interpellations were put forward. 349 questions and 33 interpellations have been answered. During this session deputies have held 4 discussions on interpellations.
During the Eighth session the parliamentary group of political party GERB has put forward 18 questions and 1 interpellation, the Coalition for Bulgaria parliamentary group 291 questions and 67 interpellations, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms parliamentary group 16 questions and 1 interpellation, the Blue Coalition parliamentary group 92 questions and 7 interpellations, the parliamentary group of Ataka party 63 questions and 2 interpellations, the independent members of parliament 18 questions and 5 interpellations.
Among ministers who provided answers most often during sittings dedicated to parliamentary control were the Minister of Agriculture and Foods Miroslav Naidenov (answered 52 questions and 2 interpellations), Vice Premier and Finance Minister Simeon Djankov (43 questions and 9 interpellations), Vice Premier and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov (35 questions and 1 interpellation), the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Liliana Pavlova (31 questions and 5 interpellations), Justice Minister Diana Kovacheva (20 questions). Former Health Minister Stefan Konstantinov has answered during the session 16 questions, his successor Dessislava Atanasova 12 questions. The Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov had answered 25 questions and 1 interpellation, his successor Delian Dobrev – 13 questions and 3 interpellations.
