Italian parliamentary delegation visited the National Assembly

National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov met with an Italian parliamentary delegation, led by Senator Fiorello Provera, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Emigration Committee of the Italian Senate.
Bulgaria will unconditionally accept the results of the peer review at Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov stated at the meeting. He expressed hope that the EU would accept these results in the same way.
Senator Fiorello Provera, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Emigration Committee of the Italian Senate, stressed that the Italian side understands the importance of the problem with Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant for the Bulgarian economy.
Another subject under discussion was the construction of the Transport Corridor VIII.
This is a priority not just for Bulgaria and Italy but also for all countries in this region, Prof. Gerdjikov underlined. The guests assured him that the Italian side would assist in the implementation of this project.
Europe needs Bulgaria, Senator Provera stated during his meeting with representatives of the Foreign Policy, Defence and Security Committee.
He highly assessed the progress made by Bulgaria to meet the high standards towards EU accession.
