The National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva has opened the International conference “Youth’s Education and Employment in the context of Europe 2020 Strategy”. The forum is organized by the Economic and Social Council of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the European Commission’s Office in Bulgaria.
The parliamentary head described education and employment of young people as the most essential and debated issue in Bulgaria, subject of deep analysis and concern on the part of politicians. Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva noticed that in the fast changing conditions on the social stage, the good education will be of key importance for the young people’s realization on the labor market.
In her view Europe needs to find out urgently pragmatic and viable solutions with respect to education and youth’s employment. At the present forum, representatives of the EU member states will be able to exchange views about good national practices that could be introduced in other member countries. Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva has reminded that the Bulgarian parliament has adopted, the previous day, a new Law on the Preschool and School Education which takes a new approach to education.
Among the themes to be discussed at the forum are “The role of universities for education and realization of young people”, “Policies and measures to prevent early school drop out” “Support for growth and employment – the modernization agenda of the higher education system in Europe”.
The conference is attended by more than 40 members of the European Economic and Social Committee from 25 EU members states, deputies, representatives of the Bulgarian government and higher educations establishments, Bulgarian teachers, non governmental organizations, scientists and experts.
