Around 3000, mostly young people, have visited the parliament on its Open Doors Day. On occasion of the 175th birthday of Vasil Levski the National Assembly has opened for visitors on June 10th, 2012.

Among the visitors were Belgian journalists who are in the country to prepare reports on Bulgaria, as well as a group of 22 tourists from Taiwan making a tour of the country and the capital.

During the Open Doors the National Assembly had arranged 3 exhibitions – “The Constitution of the Apostle”, a second displaying relics linked to the person and work of Vasil Levski and the third with philatelic editions dedicated to Levski and the struggles for liberation of Bulgarians.

Some of the personal belongings of the Apostle attracted the greatest interest of the public, such as his original personal pocketbook, which has not been on display in the last 11 years, his revolver, knife, necklace with silver cross and the chain in which he was shackled in the prison.

The relics shown currently at the National Assembly are kept permanently at the National Museum Vasil Levski in his home town Karlovo, at the Regional History Museum in the town of Lovetch, at the National Military History Museum and at the National Library St. St. Cyril and Methodius.

The visitors could also attend the audio visual presentation about the Apostle’s life.
