National Assembly Vice-President Anastas Anastasov meets with the delegation of the National People’s Congress of China, led by the Deputy Chairwoman Chen Jhili

The National Assembly Vice-President Anastas Anastasov has met with the delegation of the National People’s Congress of China, led by the Deputy Chairwoman Chen Jhili. In the meeting took part deputies from the Friendship group Bulgaria – China and the Committee on Agriculture and Forests Chairperson Mrs. Desislava Taneva.


The Vice-President of the National Assembly pointed out that the meeting is very important for the upgrading of the friendly relations between Bulgaria and China. During the talks Anastas Anastasov underscored the importance of China as a partner, to which Bulgaria pays special attention for cooperation in the field of economy, tourism, culture and education. Each committee in the parliament, he said, is ready to establish direct contact with its counterpart in the Congress of China because the parliamentary relations between the two parliaments contribute an important dimension to the relations between our two states, he added.


The Deputy Chairwoman of the National People’s Congress of China, Mrs. Chen Jhili, described Bulgaria as a reliable and strategic partner not only within Eastern Europe but also in the frameworks of the European Union. She further said the partnership will be enhanced in the future with the opening of the Centre for promotion of the cooperation between China and Bulgaria which is to be opened in Shanghai. Mrs. Chen Jhili pointed out that Bulgaria and China have great potential to enlarge the cooperation in agriculture due the interest of many Chinese companies in this sector.


The Chair of the parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Forests Desislava Taneva noted that agriculture is the most competitive sector of Bulgaria due to the funds provided by the European Union. According to her, common interest exists also in field of cattle – breeding and milk production, the production of honey, and the production of rose oil in which Bulgaria has achieved high technological level.
