National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva met with the delegation of the National Assembly of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by the Vice Chairman

The National  Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva has met on 28 Septembet 2012 the delegation of the National Assembly of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by its ChairmanN Huinh Ngoc Son.


 The Vietnamese parliamentarians are on a two-day visit to Bulgaria.


Bulgaria appreciates highly the traditional friendship relations with Vietnam, noted the chair of the parliament Tsetska Tsacheva. She stressed that the bilateral relations have had a rich history and traditions, a good base for their further strengthening and development in present conditions. The two parties shared the view that the exchange of high level visits including the recent visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to Vietnam, and the current one provide new  dynamics to the bilateral cooperation and confirm the will of the countries to develop their strategic partnership based on pragmatism, specific projects and mutual trust.


As particularly important were outlined the defense and security sectors which were at the focal point of the visit of the Vietnamese delegation. Both parties expressed hope to considerably enlarge the cooperation in these two fields in the very near future. Bulgaria assess highly the progress of Vietnam on its way on renewal and market economy, stated Tsetska Tsacheva and pointed to the trade, economic and tourist investments as having untapped potential.


At the meeting  was expressed the will of the two parties to continue further the active parliamentary dialogue and exchange, as well as the cooperation within the Interparliamentary Union and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophone countries.  The delegation was welcomed in the plenary hall of the parliament.


The Vietnamese deputies have held talks with members of the Foreign Policy and Defense Committee and of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee. They had also meetings with the Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria Margarita Popova, the Vice-Premier and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov and the Deputy Minister of Defense Avgustina Tsvetkova.


The programme envisages  also visits to the Military Academy “G.S. Rakovski”in Sofia,  the National Museum of Military History and the town of Plovdiv.
