The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva has conferred on March 6th with representatives of the protesters. At the meeting which took more than two hours, she has listened to their demands and notes and promised to acquaint in details the leaders of the parliament.
The protesters have presented a number of demands, among them for a national referendum on convening Grand National Assembly which to change the Election Code and for imposing moratorium on all collection proceedings against individual consumers, initiated by the monopolies in the country like the electric power distribution companies, the heating and water distribution companies, the banks, the financial institutions and the mobile operators.
The speaker of the National Assembly informed the participants on the legislative activity of the last days and noted the present agenda comes as a result of consultations of all represented political forces in the parliament. Following the demands of the protesting citizens, the National Assembly has adopted amendments to the Energy and Energy Efficiency Acts, to the Black Sea Spatial Planning Act. She has added that changes to the Tourism Act and to the Consumers Protection Act are to be considered as well.
She informed the participants that a decision to invite large missions of OSCE and PACE observers to the forthcoming early elections has been made.
