The Speaker of Parliament congratulated the graduates and presented the best performers with diplomas and honorary signs of the National Assembly.

This is an exciting day for you as well as for me, because I am also a graduate of the Law Faculty, said Mihail Mikov in his address. He stressed that during their studies under the care of their expert professors, the graduates have mastered the alphabet – the reading and writing of law, have made their first steps in the universe of law, and are yet to travel this universe and conquer it. Remember, that to become a lawyer takes a lifetime, not only because the law in effect dynamically changes and evolves, but because the knowledge of it is boundless, Mikov said to the students. Bulgaria needs you, needs your knowledge, work, energy and integrity in service to the art of good and just, said further the President of the National Assembly.

Be brave, affirm the supremacy of the Constitution and the exact and uniform application of the law, independent of any outside influence wherever it may come from, Mihail Mikov called upon the graduates. Be biased in the first place to law, justice and rights of citizens to affirm the democratic and welfare state, said the President of the National Assembly.

Mihail Mikov noted that the Faculty of Law at "St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University is the oldest law school in Bulgaria attended by many of the spiritual leaders of Bulgaria, statesmen and magistrates. Today the Faculty is an active participant in the European international scientific exchange and the achievements of its teaching and scientific community certainly make it a recognized educational center at the highest international level, a valuable, trustworthy and reliable partner, he added.
The National Assembly President stressed that today not only the graduates, but also each of Bulgaria's citizens owe deep gratitude to the faculty, for the success and reputation of the law school are based on their professionalism and love for what they do.

The Faculty Dean Prof. Sasho Penov congratulated all graduates and their families with the event. He stressed that the law faculty was attended by such major representatives of the Bulgarian intellectual thought as Dimcho Debelyanov, Elin Pelin, Yordan Yovkov, and Hristo Smirnenski. Graduates of the school are many prominent Bulgarian statesmen, thousands of judges, prosecutors, lawyers and other representatives of the legal profession who uphold the development of the Bulgarian state, added Professor Penov. Now you are trained lawyers, people who by applying the law will give their mind and heart to see justice done, said the Dean of the Faculty to the graduates.
