At its first sitting the Parliamentary Committee on Interaction with Civic Organizations and Movements has held public discussion on the amendments of the election rules received so far.

This was the second forum, held by the 42nd National Assembly to discuss, with the civil society in the country, the future election law. Representatives of civil organizations and movements, as well as political parties not represented in the parliament receiving state subsidies, have taken part, as the Ombudsman, Konstantin Penchev and the chairman of the Audit Office, Valery Dimitrov. Dimitar Dimitrov, expert in election systems, was moderator of the meeting. 

The participants expressed their opinions on the report summarizing the proposals for amendments to the election rules received at the round table, held in the parliament on June 18th, 2013. There were additional proposals made at this meeting.

The Chairwoman of the Committee on Interaction with Civic Organizations and Movements, Maya Manolova, informed that on the next sittings, the committee was planning to hold discussions with civil society concentrating on the different themes proposed.
