The National Assembly has adopted the Internal Rules of the Committee on Control of the Security Services, Use and Employment of Special Intelligence Means and Access to Data under the Electronic Communications Act. The parliamentary committee is to exercise control over the State Agency “National Security”, the National Intelligence Service, the National Service for Protection, the Military Information Service of the Defense Ministry, the State Commission on Information Security as well as the newly created State Agency “Technical Operations” legal successor of the specialized Directorate “Technical Operations” previously subordinated to the Interior Ministry.
The committee may exercise full control over ongoing and completed operations. The control over the ongoing operations could only be related to their compliance to the legal rules and internal regulations of the special services.
