In a joint statement, the President Georgi Parvanov, National Assembly Speaker Ognian Gerdjikov and Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha expressed their condolences to the families of the five Bulgarian servicemen who were killed in Iraq.


The three leaders say that the men who died had dedicated their lives to the fight against terrorism that threatens the whole humanity. The circumstances on the deadly attack in Karbala are being analyzed with a view to taking extra measures to minimize further risk for the Bulgarian soldiers there, the statement said.
