During the First session of the 42nd National Assembly 978 letters, complaints, proposals, signals and declarations on behalf of citizens, civil organizations and initiative committees were received through the Information and Administrative Center. 8 requests for access to public information and 34 signals and enquiries were filed through the virtual Office of the assembly according to the information provided by the Information Service.

123 of the letters and complaints were answered directly by the information center, 109 have been sent for checkup and opinion to the competent authorities. 615 of the documents were sent to the competent parliamentary committees. 131 letters have not been answered due to the author’s anonymity, lack of return address or such treating personal or family matters.

Right after the convention of the 42nd National Assembly many demands on the part of medical establishments and medical practices have been filed asking for the incrimination of assaults carried out against doctors and staff of the services for urgent care, as well as letters of support of the complete ban on smoking in public spaces. The latter were sent for review to the parliamentary health care committee. On 28 June 2013 the National Assembly adopted in the Penal Code more severe penalties for assaults against medics and teachers.

Citizens have submitted at the NA personal proposals and opinions asking for amendments to several laws as follows: the Political Parties Act, the Publicity of Assets owned by High officials in the Public and Private Sector Act, the Energy Act, the Election Code, the Social Security Code, the Social Assistance Act, to the Act for Compensation of People bearers of long-time saving accounts before 1990, to the Act for Integration of People with Disabilities.

Many of the letters, the signals and the complaints filed by citizens unveil conflicting issues between them and the providers of heating and electric energy as well as between them and banks providers of loans.
Most often the demands require amendments to the laws in the social and retirement field – ask for increase of pensions, and cap on the increase of the retirement age, the abolition of the pension ceiling, ask for the opening of more jobs, amendments to the current legislation regulating the access to   social assistance, so as to allow more people to have access.

The Information and Administrative Center of the National Assembly had received also many letters and demands in support of the government and such asking for its resignation.
