The first sitting of the 42nd National Assembly’s autumn session has begun.

The first sitting of the 42nd National Assembly’s autumn session has begun. The deputies have voted the agenda of the week. As today is the first Wednesday of the month the parliamentary groups have the right to dress the agenda themselves. The Coalition for Bulgaria proposal for the weekly agenda is to debate the state of the energy sector in the country, the proposal of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms – first reading of the amending bill on the Corporate Income Act. The Ataka and GERB PGs have not made proposals to the agenda.

The agenda includes also termination of MP Lubomir Petkov powers, report of the Committee on Prevention and  Disclosure of Conflict of Interests for 2012, as well as draft resolution on establishing ad hoc parliamentary committee to inquire into to the data revealed by the committee implicating breaches on the part of its head. Several other laws are to be discussed as well: amendments to the Penal Code, the Foreigners Act etc.

The speaker of the National Assembly recalled that from this session on a new form of parliamentary scrutiny goes into effect. It foresees asking cabinet ministers to answer questions right away without beforehand preparations.
