The relations between Bulgaria and Turkey are very good in all the fields, National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov stressed during his meeting with the Finance Minister of Turkey Mr. Kemal Unatikan. He thanked for Turkey’s support for Bulgaria’s efforts towards NATO membership. Prof. Gerdjikov expressed his satisfaction with the good trade and economic relations between the two countries.

According to Mr. Unatikan, the bilateral relations are at highest possible level in recent years and make important contribution to stability in the region.

They were unanimous on the joint commitments of the two countries related to the security in Europe and the Near East. The two also talked about Iraq and the need to strengthen the cooperation in the fight against terrorism. The Turkish Minister expressed his condolences on the Karbala incident.

Kemal Unatikan met also with the Parliamentary Group for Friendship between Bulgaria and Turkey.
