The reelection of Irina Bokova as General Director of UNESCO sends the message that when a cause has the support of all political forces and the society it is truly a  success for Bulgaria, stated the president of the National Assembly Mihail Mikov, from the rostrum of the parliament. His congratulations on occasion of Bokova’s reelection received the lawmakers’ applause.

I have no doubt that I am voicing the persuasion of each one of you that the election is a doubtless recognition of her exceptional professional credentials as politician and diplomat of the highest rank, noted Mihail Mikov. In his words the reelection is recognition of her work at the head of the world organization in the past mandate.

The President of the National Assembly wished Mrs. Bokova to keep on working with the same energy, competence and inexhaustible inspiration for the mission and the causes of UNESCO in the present world full of hardships and many challenges. Let us thank her again for consecrating her victory to Bulgaria, added Mihail Mikov.
