The creation of the Administrative Court is linked directly to the strengthening of Bulgaria’s statehood in the Third Bulgarian State, noted the Parliament’s President, Mihail Mikov, on occasion of the Supreme Administrative Court‘s 100th Anniversary.

Mihail Mikov has added that the Court’s founders had admitted at the time that the administrative branch of the judiciary represents part of a well-functioning, democratic, rule of law abiding state. He addressed the members of the Supreme Administrative Court saying the challenges they face would grow constantly in connection with Bulgaria’s membership in the European Union.

The European Law arrives in Bulgaria through the different legal rules that have to be introduced in Bulgarian legislation, Mihail Mikov said. He added the challenges consist in reaching those high standards in applying the law that would make Bulgarian citizens feel protected from the abuse of the administration.
