The National Assembly President, Mihail Mikov, called on members of parliament to join the world democratic community’s mourning on the passing away of former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace laureate, Nelson Mandela.

We all grieve about the loss of one of the greatest political figures of our time, noted the head of the parliament at the beginning of the plenary sitting.

“Mandela was an ardent and tireless militant for justice, an inspired leader fighting for humanism, freedom and equality”, Mihail Mikov said further. “Mandela has left as legacy his inspiring personality, a landmark for the present and future generations of leaders. His deeds are an invaluable lesson to those who have the will to make the world a better and fairer place, where human rights, freedoms and peace are the highest values”, noted the president of the National Assembly.
