The parliament has decided to set up National Council of experts on Climate Change. The council will function as an advisory body to the minister of environment and waters. The MPs have adopted on second reading amendments to the bill limiting the climate changes. The body will include representatives of all ministries, as well as representatives of the State Agency “National Security”, the Executive Environment Agency, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the National Association of Municipalities and Non Profit Legal Entities, all directly concerned with changes of the climate.
After the above law, the lawmakers have ratified the Contract on Services, which is to facilitate the execution of the project agreed between the Ministry of the Economy, Energy and Tourism and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The parliament also filled in the state Commission for Financial Supervision with two new members – Ralitsa Agayn and Vladimir Savov. The new members have a 6-year mandate. After the vote they took oath of office.
