The President of the National Assembly, Mihail Mikov has received on 31 January, 2014, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Suleiman Gyokche.
During the talks the parties confirmed that the relations between Bulgaria and Turkey are friendly, such of allies and good neighbors; the bilateral dialogue at its best in the last decades. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mihail Mikov noted that outlining the fields of cooperation between the two countries is challenging as is the task to benefit in full from the potential of the mutually profitable partnerships in a way to be felt by every citizen.
He wished success to the diplomatic mission of H.E. Ambassador Suleiman Gyokche.
The Turkish diplomat conveyed greetings on behalf of the Chairman of the Great National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Dzhemil Chichek, as well as invitation to Mihail Mikov to visit Turkey at the head of an official parliamentary delegation.
According to Mihail Mikov the position of being neighbors gives the two countries occasions for more frequent contacts – at the level of parliaments, parliamentary committees and friendship groups.
During the meeting became clear the expressed desire of the two countries for active trade and economic relations, for stronger cooperation in the field of energy and infrastructure.
The parties shared the opinion that both Bulgaria and Turkey are interested in contributing in a tangible way to every initiative that guarantees the stability and the prosperity in the region.
