The agenda of the extraordinary sitting of parliament, beginning at 1.30 pm, contains only one item, namely - repeated debate on the Election Code, which was passed by the National Assembly on February 21, 2014. In the morning preceding the plenary sitting, the ad-hoc committee in charge of elaborating, carrying out discussions and submitting to the plenary the Election Code bill is to have a meeting in order to review the motives of the veto imposed by the President of the Republic and for its return for new deliberations.

The sittings of the parliament and of the ad-hoc committee are called upon order of the Speaker of the Parliament, Mihail Mikov, in compliance with Art. 78, item 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and Art. 27, paragraph 3 and Art. 34. paragraph 4 of the Rules of Organization and Procedure of the National Assembly.

The Decree and the explanatory reasons of the veto, imposed by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, mandating  reconsideration of the Election Code are filed in the registrar’s office of the National   Assembly on March 1, 2014. at 16.53 h.
