The National Assembly has rejected the presidential veto over texts of the Election Code. 138 lawmakers voted in favor of the new Election Code, while 80 voted against it. There were no abstentions. The Code was supported by the MPs of the parliamentary groups of Coalition for Bulgaria, Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Ataka and 3 independent lawmakers. The PG of PP GERB voted against the bill.

The texts returned by the Head of State to be considered anew concern the mode of construing the Central Electoral Commission, the preferential and the electronic vote.
