Bulgaria expects a juridical formula to be found, allowing this country to sign the European Constitution, the Chairman of the European Integration Committee Daniel Valchev said during the meeting between the European Integration Committee of the Bulgarian Parliament and a delegation of the European Affairs Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of Italy.

Daniel Valchev informed his Italian counterparts of the progress made by Bulgaria towards EU accession. We hope to close the financial chapters within the present European Commission’s term of office and the technical chapter during the Irish Presidency of EU, he added.

The Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Mr.Giacomo Stucchi pointed out that the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Italy in politics, economy and culture are excellent.

The Italian MPs underlined the importance of some infrastructure projects as Transport Corridor VIII. The construction of the Transport Corridor VIII is a priority for Italy, Giacomo Stucchi said.
