The National Assembly honored the memory of the 12 children who died in Lim river. At the beginning of the plenary sitting, parliament speaker Mihail Mikov noted that this tragedy is not only a grim recollection but also a strong bell ring for our conscience - to be more responsible for our, Bulgarian children.

Let us recall a tragic event that left a lasting painful trace in the hearts of all Bulgarians – on this day 10 years ago, a bus full of Bulgarian students fell in the bed of Lim river, said the President of the National Assembly. For the parents of perished children, for their relatives the pain will never go away as this is a pain that cannot be cured, he added.

But the anniversary of a tragedy like this is an occasion to ask ourselves what we do as parents, citizens and statesmen for the safety, for the protection of life and health of our, Bulgarian children, said Mihail Mikov. We can and must do more in this direction, it is the duty of all institutions and civil society, he added.
