“From crisis towards rebuiding – creating new ways for growth, opening of new jobs and emphasis on social policy  in the countries of the Black Sea Region” – was the key theme of discussion at the 43rd General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) Organization held on 12-14 May 2014 in Athens, Greece.

The leader of the Bulgarian delegation Petar Kanev has presented a report on the above topic, while the lawmaker of the GERB parliamentary group Galina Mileva-Georguieva spoke about the introduction of new technologies in the contemporary construction business and architecture in the member-countries of the Black Sea Economic Organization.

In his speech MP Petar Kanev emphasized on the social measures needed to overcome unemployment, on the instruments for creating new jobs. He also talked about the benefits of the cooperation between the member countries and the impact of the parliamentary diplomacy in the Black Sea region.

Representatives from 11 of the 12 member-countries took part in the 43rd General Assembly of PABSEC – from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. Other issues discussed at the forum were the role of the local and regional governments in the cooperation between the member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization. The participants discussed also the topic of youth unemployment and ways of coping with it in the Black Sea Region.
