The Parliament has rejected the no-confidence motion against the government of Plamen Oresharski with 116 votes “against”, 93 “yes” and no abstentions. The no-confidence vote against the cabinet was initiated by the PG of PP GERB. Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski and members of his cabinet were present at the plenary hall.
Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski has thanked the parliament for its support and promised the cabinet would continue to work for rehabilitation of the energy sector. He underscored the energy sector should be subject of constructive discussions, with the presumption that decisions taken currently will have their impact in the next 5-10 and even more years. In his view the biggest mistakes in the sector have been made back in 2000 and 2012. In the last year the government was forced to take a series of measures to cope with the situation. According to Plamen Oresharski today the market of electricity is considerably more balanced. The liberalization of this market is in progress. He added that the latter was needlessly relented in the last years.
“I thank all members of the parliament who have supported the work of the cabinet, as well as those of the opposition who raised criticism. I would be glad to hear every constructive critique, not such that are deliberately destructive”, stressed Plamen Oresharski
