The 42nd National Assembly President Mihail Mikov and the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov have discussed important issues of the bilateral relations in the fields of culture, energy, economy and transport.

The President of the National Assembly has given dinner in honor of Russia’s Foreign Minister and the delegation.

Mihail Mikov has confirmed the readiness of the National Assembly to assist the development of the connections between the two parliaments and informed Sergey Lavrov about the goals and the tasks of the newly created Parliamentary Assembly of the Process for Cooperation in Southeast Europe.

The meeting has been attended by the chairman of the Coalition for Bulgaria parliamentary group Atanas Merjanov, the deputy chair of the PP GERB PG Tsetska Tsacheva, the chairman of the Foreign Policy committee Yanaki Stoilov and the head of the parliamentary friendship group Bulgaria-Russia Nikolay Malinov.

The president of the National Assembly has handed the Russian guest an honorary plaquette, dedicated to the 135 years of Bulgaria’s parliament.
