23/07/2014

The National Assembly President Mihail Mikov has opened on 23 July 2014 the exhibition dedicated to important moments in the work of the 42nd National Assembly named: “The open parliament”. The exhibition shows 21 panels with interesting photos shot by the parliamentary photojournalists and the staff of the National Assembly’s press center.

The chair of the parliament noted that the exhibition was like an amiable winking   and an attempt to present, through photos, moments of the parliament’s work. “The 42nd parliament was a peculiar one. To begin with – it was an open parliament and that sense of openness is present in all these photographs. It was a besieged parliament, at times an empty parliament”, said Mihail Mikov.

The head of the National Assembly stressed that the current parliament had held 150 sittings, 130 regular, the rest extraordinary, and had adopted some important laws, such that people were asking for before the snap elections of last year.

Mihail Mikov said the 42nd parliament was one in which the political forces used more often the couloirs rather than the plenary hall to express their political ideas.
