The Speaker of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva has met on October 31, 2014 the President of Austria, Dr. Heinz Fisher. The Austrian Head of State is on official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev.

During the talks it was agreed that the contacts between Bulgaria and Austria at parliamentary level were very active and meaningful, something contributing to the excellent state of the bilateral, friendly relations.

Among the key topics, the Chair of the National Assembly and the Austrian guest discussed the trade economic partnership, the cultural exchange between the two countries and the interaction between Bulgaria and Austria in the European Union.

The President of the National Assembly informed the guest about the first steps of the newly elected 43rd parliament and the efforts of the political forces aimed at establishing a stable government, which will provide for the successful development of the society.

Tsetka Tsacheva confirmed that a Friendship Group between the Parliament of Bulgaria and the Federal Assembly of Austria is to be set up in the nearest future.
