The budget of the EU and the new plan for investments of the European Commssion were the key topics discussed by the President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and Kristalina Georgieva, Vice-President of the European Commission and EU Commissioner on Budget, Human Resources and Security.

The Chair of the Parliament has acquainted Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva with the current political situation in Bulgaria and with the priorities in the work of the 43rd National Assembly. In the words of Tsetska Tsacheva main problem for people in the country remain the issues of security and stability, as well as their strongly shattered sense of justice, which leads to apathy and loss of trust in the state and its institutions. She stressed that the funds of the EU investment plan would be very important for the economic growth of the country.

According to Kristalina Georgieva it is important that investments in Bulgaria were successful and effective. This goal could be reached if our country could determine fast its priority projects - present them to the investment committee and defend the projects with confidence about their usefulness for the Bulgarian economy. The investment plan of the European Union aims at creating 1- 1, 3 million new jobs in Europe, at taking out the money from the banks and making it work for the real economy, for the creation of  jobs for people, the Commissioner noted.

Kristalina Georguieva gave as example the project for rehabilitation of dwellings in Bulgaria and said the banks are prepared to work on it if given guarantees that the latter would be implemented on a large scale, not as a pilot project. She said this was a priority of the government and 2015 could become the year when the project may receive a big boost. The benefit that the European money could bring to the economy is well understood by the cabinet, she underscored.
