The Second Session of the 43rd National Assembly has started. The Members of the National Assembly are to consider at first reading amendments to Social Insurance Code, moved by the chairman of the parliamentary group of BSP Leftist Bulgaria Mihail Mikov and a group of MPs. Amendments, submitted by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms PG chairman Lutvi Mestan and a group of MPs to the Civil Registration Act will be considered at first reading as well. The weekly agenda of the National Assembly includes consideration of the Strategy for Development of the Higher Education in the period 2014-2020 submitted by the Council of Ministers.
Today is to be held the first blitz parliamentary control sitting of the new parliamentary session with the participation of the Premier and his deputies. This Friday’s oversight sitting is to begin at 9 am.
The proposed by BSP Leftist Bulgaria amendments to the Social Insurance Code foresee freezing of the required age and years of contributions for retirement in 2015 and provide opportunity for flexibility and early retirement by 2 years before the legal minimum retirement age. In this case the amount of the pension to be received is to be decreased by 0, 4 % for each month short of the legal minimum retirement age.
