Celebration of the modern Bulgarian state 125th anniversary

The National Assembly will mark the 125th anniversary of the modern Bulgarian state at a solemn plenary sitting on 16 April 2004. The sitting will be open at 10.00 a.m. with an address by National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov. Speeches will be delivered by the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as by the Chairpersons of the Parliamentary Groups.

The National Assembly will vote an address to the Bulgarian people.

The Parliament will launch celebration with the opening of a documentary exhibition titled “Creative Will” on 17 April 2004, Saturday.

The celebrations will be held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov, the honorary chairmanship of National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov and the Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha.

The April programme for marking the anniversary also envisages validation of a block stamp on the subject of the Turnovo Constitution /the first Bulgarian Constitution/, complete with envelope and stamp, as well as presentation of books on the Bulgarian statehood.
