The parliament has established an ad hoc enquiry committee with the task to examine the financial state of the pension insurance companies in the country and the universal and professional pension funds they manage, as well as to whether their activities are conformant to the regulatory requirements.
Kornelia Ninova, lawmaker of BSP Left Bulgaria PG was elected to chair the committee; Nastimir Ananiev was elected as deputy chair. Each parliamentary group is represented by one member. The committee’s term of office was set to one month. The proposal of BSP Left Bulgaria, the Reformist Bloc, the Patriotic Front and ABV at the beginning was to assign to the committee examining the effectiveness of the supervision exercised over the pensions’ funds. The final subject of the committee’s task was drawn up after consultations between the parliamentary groups.
