Apostle of Freedom, Vassil Levski, commemorated at the National Assembly

The commemoration on the occasion of the Apostle of Freedom, Vasil Levski’s death was held at the initiative of the National Assembly’s Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and Vassil Vassilev, Head of the National Committee “Vassil Levski”. The guests attending the event and MPs received the special publication – Calendar, dedicated to the 142nd anniversary of the death of the Apostle. The Calendar presents one of the most sacred national treasures of Bulgaria – his pocketbook containing his notes of the last years before his death.

The anniversary was also marked by an exposition titled:” The Apostle’s Constitution”. In 12 panels the exhibition presents Levski’s basic ideas for the future, written by the Apostle himself. In the words of the researchers, the ideas, principles and visions formulated by Levski are as complete as to serve the text of a constitution.

The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and Vassil Vassilev discussed some joint future initiatives, agreeing that the latter should be oriented towards the young generation of Bulgarians.

Tsetska Tsacheva confirmed her wish to take part in the newest initiative of the National Committee “Vassil Levski” – the foundation in schools, throughout Bulgaria, of clubs named: “Young Revivalists”.

National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the National Assembly are to take part in the commemoration ceremony of the 142nd year since the death of the Apostle at the Vassil Levski’s Monument.
