The development of the parliamentary cooperation and mutual and friendly ties between young people from Bulgaria and Croatia were among the topics discussed at the talks between the President of the National Assembly Mrs Tsetska Tsacheva and the Vice-Premier and Foreign and European Affairs Minister of Croatia Mrs Vesna Pusic.

The Vice-Premier and Foreign and European Affairs Minister of Croatia, Mrs Vesna Pusic, explained that the parliament of Croatia was implementing a project aiming at acquainting young people in the country with the legislative process and proposed to include young people from Bulgaria and Croatia in common initiatives. Tsetska Tsacheva noted the Bulgarian parliament is very active in developing its educational programs thus giving young people more possibilities for close cooperation.

During the talks, the parties agreed that Bulgaria and Croatia had similar problems and common goals in the frames of the European Union. It was noted that the relations between the two countries were excellent and extremely dynamic. The intensive political dialogue demonstrates the will for cooperation at all levels. Transport infrastructure, energy and tourism were among the fields pointed as such of mutual interest. Vesna Pusic stressed that the two countries shared the same opinions as regards to migration and underscored the responsibilities and the pressure should be equally shared, according to clear rules.

Tsetska Tsacheva has added that both countries could develop two lines of cooperation in the framework of the European Union – one on a regional level and on the level of several countries facing one and the same problem, such as, for example, the migration problem.

The head of Bulgaria’s parliament praised the existing good parliamentary contacts and cooperation between the friendship groups of the two legislatures.
