Bulgarian parliamentary delegation on the highest level will visit Hungary days after its accession to EU

A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov will pay an official visit to the Republic of Hungary from 4 to 7 May 2004. The visit is at the invitation of the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Dr. Katalin Szili.

The Bulgarian delegation includes National Assembly Vice-President and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Ad-Hoc Committee on Amendments to the Constitution Kamelia Kassabova and the MPs Ekaterina Michaylova, Liutvi Mestan and Yanaki Stoilov.

This visit follows the recent visit of the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Dr. Katalin Szili to Bulgaria when she extended an invitation to the Bulgarian MPs, Members of the Ad-Hoc Committee on Amendments to the Constitution, to visit Hungary and to share experience with their Hungarian counterparts on the constitutional reforms in the two countries along the road to the European Union.

The visit is taking place just days after Hungary’s accession as a full EU member. The Bulgarian delegation is scheduled to meet with Hungarian National Assembly Speaker, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister.

The delegation will leave for Budapest on 4 May, Tuesday, at 16.10 hrs, from Sofia Airport, Government Lounge.
