Possibilities to strengthen economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Liechtenstein among the highlights of meeting between National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Liechtenstein Foreign Minister Aurelia Frick

The possibilities for strengthening the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Liechtenstein through increased trade and attracting Liechtenstein investment and tourists to Bulgaria were among the highlights of the meeting of the National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture of the Principality of Liechtenstein Aurelia Frick, who is on a two-day official visit to Bulgaria.

The Speaker expressed confidence that the visit of the Liechtenstein Foreign Minister will lay the beginning of more active and fruitful friendly relations between the two countries. Tsetska Tsacheva pointed out the untapped potential in the economic field and Bulgaria’s will to have it utilized. There are opportunities for mutual cooperation between Bulgarian and Liechtenstein companies in the field of electronics, mechanical engineering, pharmacy and tourism, she said. The National Assembly President expressed gratitude for the support that Liechtenstein has rendered to Bulgaria through the Mechanism of the European Economic Area.

Undoubtedly one of the important topics for Bulgaria is the country's membership in Schengen, said Tsetska Tsacheva and added that the membership of Bulgaria and Romania in the Schengen area will ensure greater security of Europe.

I hope that we accelerate the visit of the President of Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein Albert Frick to Bulgaria as it will help not only step up political and parliamentary dialogue, but will also contribute for the development of economic relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries, said Tsetska Tsacheva. She noted that it is important for Bulgaria to be represented as well as recognizable in Liechtenstein and noted that our country provides very good tax environment for business.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture of Liechtenstein Aurelia Frick stressed that there is a very good general basis in place for the development of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Liechtenstein. She noted further that her country is not an EU member state but is part of the European Economic Community and complies with all European and international standards. Aurelia Frick committed herself to informing the President of Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein Albert Frick on the wish expressed by the President of the National Assembly to have him soon on a visit to Bulgaria.
