The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva laid flowers in front of the French Embassy in Sofia as a token of solidarity and in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris that have taken hundreds of innocent lives and left many injured.

What happened is incompatible with human civilization, Tsetska Tsacheva told journalists outside the French Embassy. Now is the time for Europe to show action, time for a common response, for European solidarity and greater determination in regard to such events, said the President of the Bulgarian parliament.

National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva has sent letters of condolence to the Presidents of the Senate and the National Assembly of the French Republic in connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris, that have taken hundreds of innocent lives and left many injured. In the letters the President of the National Assembly expressed, on behalf of the Bulgarian parliamentarians and on her own behalf, deepest condolences and sympathy.

"In this difficult moment, that has shocked not only France, but the entire world, let me express my most sincere and friendly sympathy and solidarity. In Bulgaria we are all mourning for the victims of this great tragedy. We are with you at this difficult time, sharing the pain of the French people and the anguish of families grieving for the victims”, Tsetska Tsacheva wrote in the letters of condolence.

“Bulgaria condemns strongly and decisively these barbaric acts of terrorism that repersent a brutal and unacceptable attack not only against the French side but against democracy and civilization as well. There can be no justification for such actions against innocent lives. I am convinced that this brutal criminal act will double the efforts of institutions, civil society and global democratic community for more efficient fight against terrorism”, is what the letters of condolence say.
