The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the proclamation of Knezha a town. The anniversary was marked with a series of events, including ceremony of raising the flags of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Municipality of Knezha and the European Union, and solemn procession to the War Memorial of perished native heroes, where wreaths and flowers were laid.

You should be proud of the fact that you are builders of the present day and the future of your town, and should work with all heart and soul for the good of Knezha, said in her address the National Assembly President. Tsetska Tsacheva went on by saying that from historical perspective 72 years might be too short a time, yet sufficient for Knezha to win fame for its natural resources, fertile humus land and industriousness of its people. According to her, the city has great potential for successful business and economic development, with opportunity of becoming one of those places in Bulgaria, where visitors come and take away the memory of the hospitality and friendliness of its inhabitants.

In her speech the President of the National Assembly highlighted the fact that the citizens of Knezha thoughtfully keep and treasure up their scientific, cultural and historical heritage. Among the symbols of the town are the Institute of Corn established back in 1924, the “Combat” community cultural center boasting of more than 100 years of history and the local museum of history.
