National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva took part in the closing ceremony held by the Bulgarian National Television of the campaign titled “Wonders of Bulgaria 2015”. She handed in the awards in the category named “Tourist Attraction” in a studio of the Bulgarian National Television.
“People say that miracles do happen during Christmas; the miracles of Bulgaria are so close to us. It is important to know them and to make them popular not only among the young, but far away beyond the borders of our country”, Tsetska Tsacheva noted. She thanked the people who organized the event and who contributed to its success with their expertise and professionalism.
After a poll held among the spectators as tourist attraction № 1 for 2015 was chosen the island of “St Anastasia”, located near the city of Burgas. The second place was won by Armira Villa (archeological monument from the Roman Empire), near the town of Ivaylovgrad. The third place was taken by the fortress “Baba Vida” in the town of Vidin.
The first prize for the 2015 “Wonders of Bulgaria” competition, under the category “Archeological Discoveries” went to the Head of Sevt III. The second place was allocated to a seal and a wooden comb, discovered during the excavations of the ancient mineral baths Aquae Calidae – Thermopolis, near Burgas. The third place was won by the Tomb of Despot Alexiy Slav, near the Bulgarian town of Melnik.
The golden treasure of the town of Panagyurishte won the competition over the golden treasures of Rogozen and of Varna in the “Treasures” category “.
