National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the National Assembly attended on Epiphany the traditional ceremony of holy water blessings of the military and sacred flags of the Bulgarian Army. The service was held at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier by the Patriarch of Bulgaria, His Holiness Neofit and members of the clergy.

During the ceremony were hallowed the historic flag of Stiliana Parashkevova (made for the Bulgarian volunteers (Opalchentsi) in the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878 - basis for the contemporary National flag of Bulgaria), the flags of the historic First Cavalry Regiment, the 23rd Infantry Regiment of Shipka, the 15th Regiment of Lom, the 13th Infantry Regiment of Rila, the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment and several other, as well as the military flags of the National Guard, the Military Academy “G. S. Rakovski” and the flags of the Bulgarian Army units located in Bojurishte, Gorna Malina, Musachevo and Sofia.
