The Ambassadors of Albania and Macedonia and the Charge d'Affaires of the Croatian Embassy asked support for their countries’ NATO membership at a meeting with National Assembly President Gerdjikov

The Ambassadors of Albania and Macedonia Fatmir Kumbaro and Ljubisa Georgievski and the Charge d'Affaires of the Croatian Embassy Yossip Shpolyaric met with National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov and asked support for their countries’ NATO membership.
Prof. Gerdjikov assured of Bulgaria’s support for the ambition of Albania, Macedonia and Croatia to become NATO members. It would contribute to security and stability in the Balkans, he considers.
The Ambassadors have a series of meetings to ask support for the three countries’ NATO membership. They have already met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of Simeon the Second National Movement Mr. Stanimir Ilchev and with the Vice-President of the National Assembly and Vice-Chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Mr. Younal Loutfi. They intended to hold meetings with all parliamentary groups.
Importance of the Transport Corridor VIII infrastructure project was underlined in the course of the meeting. Prof. Gerdjikov stated that during his forthcoming meeting with the President of the Italian Senate he would ask for more active cooperation for the construction of the corridor.
