The parliament has honored today, with a minute of silence, the memory of Yordan Sokolov, Chairman of the 38th National Assembly.
“Yordan Sokolov has left us – the great Bulgarian jurist, politician and statesman, Chairman of the 38th National Assembly and member of the 37th, 38th and 39th National Assemblies,” noted Tsetska Tsacheva, Chairperson of the 43rd National Assembly. “Yordan Sokolov will leave his bright presence in the political and state life of Bulgaria, a life dedicated to the affirmation of the democratic values, the progress and the well-being of our country”, she continued.
Tsetska Tsacheva underscored that Yordan Sokolov will be remembered as a wise, mature and responsible politician of the transition period in Bulgaria; as an honest and principled statesman, one who followed in all his political acts his own principles and moral values. His contribution to the democratic progress and to the European path of Bulgaria will always be remembered and respected by our society”, she added.
