During her official visit to the Principality of Liechtenstein National Assembly Chairperson Ms Tsetska Tsacheva and the President of Liechtenstein’s Landtag, Mr Albert Frick, discussed how to activate the parliamentary cooperation between Bulgaria and the Principality of Liechtenstein. The Speaker of Bulgaria’s parliament conferred also with Alois, Hereditary Prince of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Contacts between the parliaments of Bulgaria and the Principality of Liechtenstein had considerably intensified after the exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations of the two countries. “We hope these contacts to open new possibilities for deepening of the bilateral relations in other areas and for the increase of trade,” Tsetska Tsacheva said.
The Chairperson of the National Assembly informed the Landtag of Liechtenstein’s President that after the European Union and Liechtenstein signed an agreement on the automatic exchange of financial account information, the Bulgarian parliament took Liechtenstein off the list of countries with preferential tax regime and that negotiations are under way on the signing of a double tax avoidance agreement between the two countries.
The Landtag of Liechtenstein’s President Albert Frick expressed hope the bilateral relations between the two countries would further enlarge and deepen. He said the structure of Liechtenstein’s economy is quite developed, industry in particular. Albert Frick stressed his country had made a serious effort to be excluded from the list of countries which have a preferential tax regime.
“We need to look for new tools and ways to intensify the trade and provide greater opportunities for the business representatives of the two countries,” the Chairperson of Bulgaria’s National Assembly noted. “Bulgaria is a good place for investments, is politically stable, provides perfect tax and financial incentives,” she added.
Enlargement of trade, tourism and investments were key topics discussed at the meeting of the Chairperson of Bulgaria’s National Assembly, Tsetska Tsacheva, with Alois, Hereditary Prince of the Principality of Liechtenstein. The two parties discussed opportunities for cooperation between companies in the two countries in different fields.
Tsetska Tsacheva underscored the two countries enjoy good relations and cooperation in different international organizations – OSCE, United Nations, the Council of Europe.
