The National Assembly observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, which has claimed many lives and wounded a lot of peaceful citizens. The deputies from the 43rd National Assembly have strongly and resolutely condemned the one in a series of barbarian attacks and defined it as a brutal act against freedom and peace.

There is no excuse for such monstrous violence against innocent people, said the Deputy President of the National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev. We believe that this act has doubled the energy of institutions, civil society and the international community for an even more uncompromising fight against terrorism, he said.  

We all in Bulgaria deeply mourn the victims of this huge tragedy, stated Dimitar Glavchev. He conveyed sincerest condolences to the relatives of the victims and the hope for fast recovery of those injured. In the hard times that shook not only the Turkish country but the whole world we want to express our human empathy and solidarity, pointed out the Deputy President of the Parliament.

The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva addressed a letter of condolences to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman on the occasion of the terrorist attack at Ataturk Airport.

“Bulgaria strongly condemns the repeated attack of terrorists in the Republic of Turkey”, the letter read.

“We should be united in the fight against any act that threatens our right to peaceful and free life”, continued her letter the President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva.
